Roles and Activities

Skills: Time management, Project coordination, Ability to multi-task when working on multiple projects with various moving parts, Collaborative thinking, Implementing Funding documentation, and Communicating with various stakeholders to ensure the success of a creative project.

Similar to the online gallery Spectra, I planned, organized, and synthesized our team’s vision. I formed partnerships to ensure the success of our first in-person art gallery event in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One notable collaboration was with the Student Recruitment team at the UWaterloo Stratford campus to showcase the artwork at the Stratford campus, allowing for a further audience reach and promoting student clubs or initiatives to prospective UWaterloo students. I also connected with the Stratford Chamber of Commerce to open the live event to the local Stratford community. In addition to these roles, I used my visual design skills to curate the exhibition collaboratively with the Creators Collective team.

Some additional responsibilities I took on alongside my Assistant Gallery Director, Bhumi Patel, were printing student artworks, purchasing items for artwork presentation (i.e., foam boards, T-pins, Command strips, etc.), submitting funding applications for purchases, Given my interest in art curation and direction, this experience demonstrates that I can provide a unique management and business angle to art direction and event planning. This sets me apart from other art curators and exhibition planners as I can communicate with like-minded individuals to present a creative thought process meaningfully and empathetically.
