“Blossom”
User Experience and Market Research, January – April 2024
Skills: Figma, Market Research, User Experience Research
This project was for a university class in which I collaborated with four other team members to develop a business and design solution to the prompt, “How might we close the gender gap in mental health care?” This project was partially facilitated by a corporate sponsor, Sun Life Financial’s User Experience Research and Design department.
Through this term project, my team and I brainstormed ideas to tackle Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), pitched them to each other and to our professors and classmates. We also conducted market research on the issue, designed all the assets for our final design from scratch, went through several different iterations of prototyping, and presented twice to our professors and corporate sponsors.
My role involved conducting research on GAD, acquiring and conducting user tests and research strategies such as discussing with academics in psychology and children’s mental health. I also worked on our Corporate Entrepreneurship Business Proposal, performing market research on competitor applications focused on addressing GAD or general mental wellness, and developing a launch plan for the application. These actions led to determining user flows, visual style, marketing and business pitching of the application, which ultimately impacted the outline of our final design.
Special shout out to my team: Jacquelyn Yu, Tristan Cheung, Carine Ho, and Lily Chu for their expertise in design, their ambitiousness in our project’s execution, and their passion for making Blossom the best mental health companion.
BMO App Privacy Re-Design
UX Design, September 2023.
Skills: Layout Design, Privacy-conscious design, UX Design, Prototyping, Design Thinking.
Medium: Figma, Layout Design, Privacy
I Re-designed the BMO Mobile App to be more privacy-conscious. This design observes how users would use a system and the steps that users might go through and consider when considering Privacy regulations in UX Design. This exercise forced me to observe how we use our applications, the types of restrictions we may need to implement to enforce further privacy registrations on the app, and what barriers there may be to improving the access to Privacy resources on applications and web services.

Personas and User Journeys
UX Research, October 2023
Skills: Figma, Developing User Personas, Product analysis
This project demonstrates a strong understanding of empathizing and curating a user experience. In this project, I thought about some of the privacy concerns that a user may face when purchasing or using an Internet of Things (IoT) device for the first time. In this assignment, I created the persona of Steven, a father who is purchasing the Yale Smart Lock, a digital door lock that connects to your mobile devices so you can open your door and access your home security through your mobile device.
